Sanjay123 27 Finance/ Insurance I work in the city as an actuary… and before anyone asks, no that does not make me boring by definition. It’s a pretty good job – hours aren’t crazy and no one seems to understand what we’re doing so I can get away with not having to work too hard which is unusual for a job in the city. It’s all about speculating on the future economic and demographic situation and using quantitative methods to manage insurance business. That’s what we tell everyone anyway! I can bore you with the details over a drink if you want! To be fair there is nothing more romantic than a lengthy conversation about stochastic partial differential equations… I quite like thai boxing although to be fair lately I have spent more time in the office than in the ring. In fact I’ve not trained for a couple of months because I’ve been so busy with other stuff and am dreading going back and getting my ass kicked because I’m so out of practice!
